Freestyle Friday Ciphers

Ever see a huge crowd out by the Bell Tower in a circle that looks like a fight? It might look violent but no one is throwing punches. It's a battle of wits and it's called a cipher.

Cipher: a circle where MCs present improvised freestyle raps working off one another and their surroundings to reflect a direct mapping of the mental state and performing situation of the artist. It is non-scripted, non-rehearsed, uncut, and the rawest form of hip-hop.

Freestyle Fridays are every Friday around 1 at the Bell Tower on Temple University's campus.
