I Don't Like Nostalgia Unless It's Mine- The Daily Show Gets It Right Again

The Daily Show has been having a good run of features since they came back from their winter break. These two videos were ones that I found especially important. This first video is about all the right-wing pundits (Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, etc.) who are lamenting the loss of "the America they knew" as a kid. John Oliver hits the nail right on the head. It sounds to me like this nostalgia for a politer time in America is a way to avoid the conversations about uncomfortable realities that undermine these men's hegemonic ideologies today.

The next video from The Daily Show is the strongest argument I've heard against all the nay-saying Republicans have directed at Obama's handling of the Yemen underwear bomber. My biggest criticism of the Obama administration is that he's handled things like this attack too much like the Bush administration would while Republicans argue he has not done enough even though he's done pretty much the same thing Bush did in response to the shoe-bomber.
